Practice Areas
Intellectual Property
Brand strength is the number one asset any business has- and I know how to protect it. Whether it is filing for a copyright or trademark, protecting your work against infringement or resolving complex ownership problems- I've done it. I've helped academics protect their unique work product and notable small businesses fight cybersquatters. I have stopped infringing uses of a photographer's work and developed licensing solutions for the images they did want to share. It doesn't matter if you're a documentary filmmaker seeking permission to use copyrighted works or a fashion company looking for help in managing your IP portfolio- I can help.
Business Law
A good business offers unique products or services. A great business has all of that and a strong foundation from the start. I help brands become companies and guide them through the formation & filing process. I aid my clients in developing sound business plans and best practice methods. I've negotiated contracts and drafted agreements for clients in fields of fashion, advertising, blogging and more. I remain current with the FTC's regulatory procedures to ensure our clients are not only compliant in their social media posts and blogs, but protected against bad press and potential lawsuits. Whatever your business needs to grow- I can assist.
Fashion Law
Fashion is a complex and detailed business; luckily, fashion law is my specialty. Trained in NYC at Fordham Law School's Fashion Law Institute- I help clothing, accessory, and jewelry designers with any legal questions related to their fashion business and love assisting our clients in their quest to make their brands even better. From FDA labeling guidelines, issues of design protection or drafting purchase orders to fit our clients' specific needs- I've handled it. I've even conducted mock market appointments to help prepare designers to show and sell their collections. Whatever a fashion clients' needs are- I can meet them.
